אהזהירנו מהונות הגר בדברים. והוא אמרו וגר לא תונה. ולשון מכילתא לא תונה בדברים. ונכפלה האזהרה ואמר לא תונה אותו. ובספרא שלא תאמר לו אמש היית עובד ע"ז ועכשיו נכנסת תחת כנפי השכינה. (משפטים, הלכות מכירה פי"ד):
