אשהזהיר הכהן טבול יום מעבוד אע"פ שטהר עד שיעריב שמשו. והוא אמרו בכהנים ולא יחללו שם אלהיהם, והעובר על לאו זה חייב מיתה בידי שמים, ולא בא בו כתוב מבואר בתורה אבל הוא מקובל, וכהן טבול יום ששמש חייב מיתה. ובפ"ט בסנהדרין (שם) אמרו בפירוש קדושים יהיו לאלהיהם ולא יחללו אם אינו ענין לטמא בעבודה שכבר התבאר תנהו ענין לטבול יום ששמש ויליף חלול חלול ומנו אותו בכלל מחוייבי מיתה.
