אהזהירנו מאכול ערלה. והוא אמרו יתעלה יהיו לכם ערלים לא יאכל. ומי שאכל ממנו כזית לוקה. וכבר התבארו משפטי מצוה זו במסכת ערלה, ואיסור אכילת ערלה בחוץ לארץ הלכה למשה מסיני, אמנם לשון התורה בארץ ישראל לבד. (קדושים, שם):
