שמעתי ממורי ביאור מוסר הכנעה נגד הגאוה, למלך שהיה לו ב' בנים, ושלח א' למדינה אחרת בכבוד , ולאחד שלח בבזיון כדי שילמד הכנעה וענוה. וכך היה, עד שאח"כ כבש זה עם הענוה יותר מדינות מחבירו ע"י כבוד ומלחמה, והוא ע"י מעשה רב, [ודפח"ח].
