אהיא שצונו לערוף את העגלה כמצותה כשנמצא חלל בשדה ולא נודע מי הרגו, והוא אמרו יתעלה כי ימצא חלל וגו', וזהו דין עגלה ערופה. וכבר התבארו משפטי מצוה זו בפרק אחרון מסוטה. (שופטים ושוטרים, נזיקין הלכות רוצח ושמירת נפש פ"ח):
