במענה על מכתבו מיום ה', שכותב בו ע"ד מחשבה המשוטטת ויקרה גם שלא בזמנים המתאימים.
ידוע מה שכותב בתניא בכמה מקומות, ובפרט בפרק כ"ח עיין שם. וכן באגרת הקדש סוף סימן כ"ה (קמ"ה, ע"א) ואחד הענינים שמקבלים בזה הוא להתפלל וללמוד מתוך הספר ושאפילו אם לצורך עיון - צריך לחשוב בעל פה - להחזיק פתוח הספר שנמצא בו הענין שלומד. וכאשר מרגיש המחשבה משוטטת להסתכל בהאותיות ואותיות אוחזות ומסבירות.
