ונאמרלט "כי מי גוי גדול אשר לו אלקים קרובים אליו כה' אלקינו בכל קראנו אליו", ואמרו חז"למ "קראנו אליו ולא למדותיו" (וכ"ש לא להמשמשים לפ­ניו)מא.

וזהו בדקות דדקות פירוש לשון "עבודה זרה" — דכאשר איש ישראל קורא אך ורק להמשמשים לפניו ית', ה"ז ענין של זרות, כמו "זר" שאין לו קירבה למלך עצמו, משא"כ בנ"י שהם עם קרובו, מבקשים וקוראים להקב"ה עצמו (ומדה"ר — בתור סניגור), ובודאי שה­קב"ה ממלא מבוקשם, "כבןמב שמתחטא לפני אביו ועושה לו רצונו".
