הדם — שבעניני חולין חייבים לכסות הדם והחיות.

וזהו "אבוהון דכולהו דם" — שיסוד כל המצות כולן הוא ענין ה"דם", שצריכים להעשות בחיות והתלהבות, שזה מביא בדרך ממילא שיכבד את המצות, שזהו כבודו ית', שהרי "אין הכבוד לעצמן של מצות אלא למי שצוה בהן ברוך הוא".
