Chapter 87

אלִבְנֵי־קֹ֭רַח מִזְמ֣וֹר שִׁ֑יר יְ֝סוּדָת֗וֹ בְּהַרְרֵי־קֹֽדֶשׁ׃

1¹ Of the Korahites. A psalm. A song.
The temple’s² foundation on the holy mountains—

באֹהֵ֣ב יְ֭הוָה שַׁעֲרֵ֣י צִיּ֑וֹן מִ֝כֹּ֗ל מִשְׁכְּנ֥וֹת יַעֲקֹֽב׃

2the gates of Zion—
GOD loves
more than all the dwellings of Jacob.

גנִ֭כְבָּדוֹת מְדֻבָּ֣ר בָּ֑ךְ עִ֖יר הָאֱלֹהִ֣ים סֶֽלָה׃

3Glorious things are spoken of you,
O city of God. Selah.

דאַזְכִּ֤יר ׀ רַ֥הַב וּבָבֶ֗ל לְֽיֹ֫דְעָ֥י הִנֵּ֤ה פְלֶ֣שֶׁת וְצ֣וֹר עִם־כּ֑וּשׁ זֶ֝֗ה יֻלַּד־שָֽׁם׃

4I mention Rahab³ and Babylon among those who acknowledge Me;
Philistia, and Tyre, and Cush—each was born there.

הוּֽלֲצִיּ֨וֹן ׀ יֵאָמַ֗ר אִ֣ישׁ וְ֭אִישׁ יֻלַּד־בָּ֑הּ וְה֖וּא יְכוֹנְנֶ֣הָ עֶלְיֽוֹן׃

5Indeed, it shall be said of Zion,
“They⁴ were all born there.”
It is the Most High who will preserve it.⁵

ויְֽהוָ֗ה יִ֭סְפֹּר בִּכְת֣וֹב עַמִּ֑ים זֶ֖ה יֻלַּד־שָׁ֣ם סֶֽלָה׃

6GOD will inscribe in the register of peoples
that each was born there. Selah.

זוְשָׁרִ֥ים כְּחֹלְלִ֑ים כָּֽל־מַעְיָנַ֥י בָּֽךְ׃

7Singers and dancers alike [will say]:
“All my roots⁶ are in You.”
