1Hallelujah.
א Happy are those who fear GOD,
who are ardently devoted to God’s commandments.

2ג Their descendants will be mighty in the land,
ד a blessed generation of the upright.

3ה Wealth and riches are in their house,
ו and their beneficence lasts forever.

4ז A light shines¹ for the upright in the darkness;
² gracious, compassionate, and beneficent.

5ח ט All goes well with those who lend generously,
יwho conduct affairs with equity.

6כ They shall never be shaken;
לthe beneficent will be remembered forever.

7מ They are not afraid of evil tidings;
נtheir heart is firm, they trust in GOD.

8ס Their heart is resolute, they are unafraid;
עin the end they will see the fall of their foes.

9פ They give freely to the poor;
צtheir beneficence lasts forever;
קtheir horn is exalted in honor.

10ר The wicked shall see it and be vexed;
שthey shall gnash their teeth; their courage shall fail.
תThe desire of the wicked shall come to nothing.
