בחדש מרחשון תרי"ג קבע הצ"צ, מלבד השיעורים האחרים, שיעור למוד עם אאזמו"ר בכל יום שתי שעות ומחצה - בחורף מתחיל משעה העשירית לילה ובקיץ משעה הרביעית לפנות בוקר. - שתי שנים הי' הלמוד: קבלה עם ביאורי חסידות. אחר זמן זה - עד אלול תרט"ז, שאז נפסק השיעור, למדו ספרי מחקר: הרס"ג מורה נבוכים עיקרים כוזרי ועוד ע"פ תורת החסידות.
