  • "ובן משק ביתי הוא דמשק אליעזר" (לך לך טו, ב): הטעם שאברהם מדגיש כאן את מעלותיו של אליעזר: רצונו הטבעי של אדם הוא שהענינים שעוסק בהם ומתייגע בהם ימשיכו לאח"ז ע"י בנו דוקא, ולא ע"י אדם זר, למרות מעלותיו הרבות. (א-ג)
  • ההוראה: אין די בניהול מערכה עבור הפצת תורה, אלא יש להבטיח שבני המשפחה ימשיכו בדרך זו; חשיבות ענין החינוך (כמודגש בקריאת שמע - "ושננתם לבניך"). (ד-ו)
