  • הדיוק (שתהיו) עמלים בתורה - נפקא לן מזה שעל לימוד התורה אומר "חוקה" למעלה (מהנתבע) מהשכל. (ס"א)
  • גם בלימוד התורה שייך ענין העמל (אף שלכאורה אינו אלא הבנה והשגה). (ס"ג)
  • בעמל תורה ג' ענינים: א) מלאכה שבתורה, ב) שיחה שבתורה, ג) תורה שבתורה; אצל תלמידי הישיבה עיקר העמל הוא תורה שבתורה, משא"כ אצל בעלי עסקים; ביאור ג' הענינים בתורה, "חוקה" אותיות החקיקה - אינם דבר נוסף - הגבלה עצמית. (ס"ז)
